Kecenderungan tersebut membuat mahasiswa rentan terhadap kecemasan, depresi, dan rasa stres yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan mental."Hal ini mencerminkan mahasiswa rentan terhadap kecemasan, depresi, dan rasa stres yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan mentalnya," kata Dosen Fakultas Psikologi UI Dr. Dyah T. Indirasari, Psikolog dalam webinar seperti dilansir dari laman resmi UI, Sabtu 17/7/2021.Dyah menjelaskan, penelitian tersebut diikuti partisipan yang terdiri dari dari guru, 256 dosen, dan 412 mahasiswa. Ia memaparkan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru dan dosen puas terhadap kehidupannya saat itu, lanjutnya, mahasiswa berada di dalam kategori agak puas. Kategori ini mengindikasikan perlunya intervensi dari pihak eksternal untuk meningkatkan kepuasan hidup mahasiswa. Di samping itu, secara umum, penelitian mendapati guru, dosen, dan mahasiswa memiliki emosi positif yang Prodi Pascasarjana Fakultas Psikologi UI Dr. Imelda Ika Dian Oriza, mengatakan, penelitian mendapati kondisi mahasiswa juga memiliki energi negatif yang cukup tinggi. Pada masa ini, mahasiswa dituntut harus mampu beradaptasi dengan kebebasan yang baru dimilikinya di masa kuliah dan perubahan kondisi sosial yang mereka menambahkan, kondisi pandemi COVID-19 turut mengaruhi memburuknya kerentanan mahasiswa pada kecemasan dan depresi."Ditambah dengan kondisi pembelajaran yang sangat berbeda saat ini. Akibatnya adalah mahasiswa mengalami rasa kecemasan yang tinggi dan rentan menderita depresi," kata mengatakan, untuk mengatasi rasa kecemasan tersebut, seorang mahasiswa perlu dukungan dan bimbingan dosen, universitas, maupun orang tua mahasiswa.
